Specialists from the National Cyber Security Incident Response Center (CERT-RO) warn about messages or comments received on Instagram and say they can hide a phishing attempt.
In a post on CERT-RO’s Facebook page, cybersecurity experts urge users not to submit personal, financial or authentication data.
“Beware of messages or comments received on Instagram. In some cases, they come from accounts controlled by attackers and are intended to cause you to (involuntarily) transmit personal, financial or authentication data to them. In this case, the attackers claim to be the Instagram Support Center and threaten to close the account if the data will not be validated within 24 hours by accessing a certain link. Although on this social network the links are directly inaccessible, users also receive instructions on how to still access that URL. It’s obviously a #phishing attempt, “CERT-RO experts explain.
